Rutland House Community Trust is committed to providing staff with ongoing training opportunities. The trust does not just provide staff with mandatory training such as moving and handling, First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene, we recognise a need for care officers to have specific knowledge and therefore provide compulsory training such as Autism Awareness, Makaton, managing behaviours
and many more.
Senior care officers are also given the opportunity to develop management skills.
All staff, when they first start employment with RHCT, are required to complete an induction award LDQ, Learning Disability Qualification, which is recognised by national care standards.
Once the LDQ is complete all care officers are then registered to do an NVQ at level 2 or 3. RHCT also encourage other staff within the organisation to undertake NVQ’s such as the House Keeper and Administrator.
RHCT also sell training to other organisations and have trained staff to deliver:
Moving and Handling Training - £50 per person with a maximum of 10 of people.
Safe Handling of medication in Social Care Settings - £70 per person (this includes handout pack) with a maximum of 12 people.
